Fountain control with interface DMX

The DMX corresponds to a communications protocol, created expressly to facilitate the control of increasingly complex luminaires and with more variables to govern. This protocol has been successfully transferred to the world of ornamental fountains , thanks to its simplicity and versatility.
Basically, the system consists of a unidirectional language transmitted by a 3-wire cable, through which a specific order is transmitted to a specific element. For this, all the elements of the source must have “names and surnames” (channels): thus, when the order is transmitted to all the elements, it will only be executed by the one indicated in the corresponding channel.

⦁ It is a system that logically manages (through software) the operation of each solenoid valve or pump driver, unlike the PLC or automaton, which manages the control through hardware.
⦁ In the hydraulic aspect, each electro-valve or pump is governed by a DMX channel. The same happens with lighting: each color of each bulb is individually controlled by its own channel.
⦁ It allows managing the operation of the fountain via remote control. There are DMX systems that offer the possibility of controlling devices via the Internet.
⦁ The light, switch valve, pump drivers and movable motors installation can be part of a musical or non-musical classic fountain. Depending on the type, the installation of the DMX Interface varies:
⦁ Musical fountain: in front of the DMX Interface there is a computer (PC, Mac, tablet…), through which the execution of the sequences and the synchronization between hydraulics and lighting are carried out.
⦁ Non-musical fountain: the computer, in this case, is not necessary. Instead, the cyclic sequences are recorded directly on the DMX Interface, which implements them.
